Warren Farm footpath Appeal turned down
Ealing Council were asked by the the Save Warren Farm (SWF) group and others to put the informal but very long-standing path across Warren Farm onto the ‘Definitive Map’. This is the official map showing all the statutory or ‘designated’ footpaths in the borough. Ealing council refused, so SWF appealed and a Public Inquiry was held.
Unfortunately, the appeal was lost. The appeal Inspector, Barney Grimshaw gave a legal argument for refusing the appeal along the lines that Ealing had never intended to designate the footpath. Whether that is the real reason or whether it has more to do with backing the establishment, here in the form of Ealing Council plus Queens Park Rangers football club, we are not able to judge.
