An old postcard has com into the possession of Friends of Hanwell Flight (FoHF). See below.
There has been a lot of debate by members of FoFH and BRCS about whether it is in fact the Hanwell flight and conclusion is yes, it is. We believe it was called King’s Lock because the lockkeeper there for many years was a William King. Thanks to Yvonne, James, Carolyn, Derek, Stephen, Florence, Rebecca, Amanda, Charlee, Chris and everyone else who took an interest.
If anyone would like to do a write-up, relating the picture to what we see today, BRCS would be delighted to publish it on the web and in our next newsletter.
