Extraordinary news – Queens Park Rangers backs out of Warren Farm scheme
Extra-ordinary news! Queen’s Park Rangers football club (QPR) have, without warning, pulled out of their and Ealing Council’s appalling Warren Farm scheme. See article in West London Sport.
We don’t know exactly what was behind the decision. But we do know that local residents, represented by the ‘Save Warren Farm’ and the ‘Hanwell Nature’ groups ran a fantastic campaign over some 6 years and that a new court case was imminent. This powerful and sustained campaign, if not the only reason, must surely have contributed greatly to the decision.
We hope now that Ealing Council will show a little humility and will work together with local residents – the people they are meant to represent – to decide on the future of this site. This time in the interests of us – not of a super-rich professional club.
See to BRCS’s suggested BRCS vision for Warren Farm. We look forward to discussion with everyone who is interested in this wonderful site.
