Picnic on Warren Farm
Please see information below from the Save Warren Farm campaign about this event. Flyer here: Community Picnic invitation
Hi Warren Farm supporters,
Come out and celebrate our public and community open spaces by picnicking with us on Warren Farm on Sat 15th July from 12 noon to 3pm.
Make it a special event by inviting your neighbours, friends and family. The more the merrier. Many locals have not even seen the countryside on our doorstep so bring them along to see the fantastic natural grasslands of Warren Farm. Experience the Skylarks ‘sound of spring’. If you look up you may see the Red Kites circling high above. Other wildlife to be seen on Warren Farm include: Meadow Pipits, Linnets, Goldfinches, Reed Buntings, Woodpeckers and Little Owls. Please keep to the edge of the field and near the footpaths so as not to disturb the Skylark nests and other wildlife. Dogs are welcome but please keep them under control so as not to disturb the wildlife in their habitat.
The model aeroplane flying club will be flying from 10 am until about 1 pm. They are always happy for people to watch, talk to them or join their club but for safety reasons please walk around the mown landing strip (follow the mown paths) rather than over it or in front of landing aeroplanes.
Directions to the picnic: Walk down Green Lane, past The Fox pub, turn right at the canal and over the foot bridge. Cross the canal at lock 97 by the downstream (left) gate and follow the path up Jubilee Meadow and over the railway level crossing. Climb over the 5-bar gate into Warren Farm and turn left along the mown path. This is the picnic area. We will aim to picnic on and about the north easterly footpath running between the 5-bar gate and the exit ‘hole in the fence’ near Trumpers Way.

The main objective of this picnic is to raise awareness of this fantastic countryside on our doorstep so please invite all your neighbours and spread the word by email, social media or directly to your neighbours by posting notes to them (see attached document).
