This is the last of several events at Clitherow’s Island (also known as Nanny Goat Island) organised by the Environment Trust. Their notification says “We’ll be working to remove invasive plants, mostly Himalayan balsam, and perhaps planting a few native marginal plants. There’s always plenty of litter to pick, and if the water level is low enough we’ll put on our waders and remove rubbish from the river.” For more information see their web page.
