Gurnell development turned down
Councillors have turned down the appalling plan to build massive blocks of flats on supposedly protected green open space at Gurnell – designated ‘Metropolitan Open Land’ and part of the Brent River Park.
See Ealing Today web site for a report.
The case even attracted the attention of a national organisation, the Open Spaces Society. See their Press Release.
Nic Ferriday, chairman of the Brent River & Canal Society said: “We are delighted that councillors turned down the scheme, so protecting this green open space for the people of Ealing. But this is just the latest of Ealing council’s (Labour) leadership and officers’ attacks on green open space. We hope that councillors will continue to stand up for the interests of Ealing’s residents, rather than the interests of developers.”
